Faith-Based Counselors - Providing Hope
NEW LEAF COUNSELING
Kelli McKinney, MA, LPC, PMH-C, NCC,
EMDR Trained, Christian Counselor
Life can be easier said than done! If you're reading this, you've already made the first courageous step to seek help. My overarching goal is to provide expertise and safety along your journey of healing and ultimately to you experiencing a fuller, more joyful life. Choosing to share your story can be difficult, but rewriting that story can alter the way you live, lead, and love. I have personally been in the trenches, and it is my passion to walk through the pain and beauty of life with others.
I value a holistic approach to therapy by exploring all aspects of your life while respecting each person's unique reasons for receiving therapy. Helping clients navigate the messiness of life is what I love. I find that deep change often comes with incorporating spirituality, and welcome this conversation based on your comfort level.
I enjoy working with a variety of clients, but my primary areas of focus include: anxiety, pregnancy and postpartum issues, NICU families, trauma/ abuse, attachment issues, missionary issues, and spirituality.
I am a board- certified counselor through NBCC, and I am trained in EMDR. I have also received extensive training through Postpartum International in Perinatal mental health with an emphasis on NICU families and traumatic births. I have 10 years of experience in outpatient settings, inpatient psychiatric hospitals, college campuses stateside and abroad, and as a consultant in various churches.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin, and my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary. I recently relocated to Frisco, Texas from Kansas City, Missouri.
I can only take clients, via telehealth, at this time who reside in the state of Missouri or the state of Texas. If you have questions or would like to set up an appointment, feel free to email me.
